WP Notepad 2.0.0 is out. This major update adds multiple notes (tabs), note expiry, and opt-in cross-device sync.
New features
- Multiple notes via tabs: switch between several notes in one notepad (widget, block and shortcode).
- Note expiry (TTL): automatically delete notes after a configurable number of days.
- Cross-device sync (opt-in): for logged-in users, sync via the REST API through their account. Disabled by default; guests stay browser-only.
- New storage format: notes are stored as timestamped JSON (legacy plain-string notes are read transparently).
- Settings screen: a sync toggle added under Settings → WP Notepad.
Upgrade notes
- Existing notes are read as-is (backward compatible).
- Server sync is off by default — enable it in the admin only if you want it.
