The protection scope can now be set per folder — for cases like “keep just the logos in this folder public” or “protect only the member documents”.
- Two scope modes are available: protect everything except the folders you exclude (default), or protect only the folders you list. Switch between them on the settings screen.
- Files in excluded folders are served directly by the web server, without loading PHP, so there is no speed penalty.
- The same scope decision now drives both the generated
.htaccessrules and the PHP side. Even when another plugin leaves the rules outdated, the actual behaviour never contradicts them.
Existing settings keep working unchanged; no action is required when upgrading.
