The scan of the uploads directory no longer reads every recorded attachment path into memory first, so its cost no longer grows with the size of the library. On a large site this is the difference between a scan that finishes and one the server kills.
- The directory is walked in batches instead of being listed in full, so
wp medifence stray --limit=0works on a directory of any size. - The result is unchanged: the same files are reported, for the same reasons.
