The protection can now be paused for a short while. Until now, the only way to find out whether Medifence was the cause of a broken page was to deactivate the plugin — which rewrites the .htaccess rules, and leaves your media unprotected if you forget to switch it back on.
- Pause for 5, 15, or 60 minutes. While it lasts, every file is served exactly as if the plugin were inactive.
- The .htaccess rules stay in place and the protection resumes by itself, so a pause cannot be forgotten.
- A warning is shown on every admin screen and in Site Health, served files carry an
X-Medifence: pausedheader, and the email notification never reports a deliberate pause as a failure. - Also available as
